The Doctors of

Amador Chiropractic Wellness Center

Dr. Christopher Sienes, Dr. Denise Mathre & Dr. Daniel Cockrell are licensed chiropractors serving the Sierra Foothill community of Jackson, California.  As chiropractors with 35 years of combined experience, the doctors are committed to promoting your optimal health and well being.

Our team uses a "whole person approach". This approach to wellness means looking for the underlying causes, identifying any disturbance or interference (which may or may not be causing symptoms at the time) and assist by using whatever interventions and lifestyle adjustments that will optimize the conditions to return to normal function. Our multi-doctor environment gives you access to our combined expertise, unique adjusting styles and increased availability. Using this unique approach, we are able to help you to accelerate and/or maintain your journey to good health.

Dr. Christopher Sienes

Chris_1.JPGDr. Sienes has been providing chiropractic care in Amador County since graduating Palmer College of Chiropractic-West in 1986. He is a family practitioner, caring for everyone from newborns to seniors. Young clients he had in his early years are now bringing their own children in for wellness.

While he is aware that most people think of chiropractic care as relief from back pain, neck pain and/or headaches, he knows that wellness cannot be achieved without maintaining a healthy spine and nervous system. It is the proactive approach to healthcare. He continues to share this knowledge through health and wellness talks both in and out of the office. The most enjoyable part of being a chiropractor for him is in serving those in the community, especially the relational aspect of working with his clients—making long-term connections with the people he cares for.

Dr. Sienes was an active member of Amador County Search and Rescue for over 20 years, teaches Sunday school for grades 5 and 6 at his church and is a long-standing member of Volcano Masonic Lodge. He lives with his wife, Jennifer, outside the small town of Volcano. As a self-professed ‘health-nut’ since he was a kid, he enjoys cross-country skiing, hiking, and hunting, as well as quiet time at home.

Dr. Denise Mathre

Denise_1.JPGDr. Mathre is native to this area, growing up just outside of Mokelumne Hill.  She attended Moke Hill Elementary, Toyon Middle School and Calaveras High School.  A knee injury while playing high school basketball is what convinced her to pursue a career in chiropractic.  She was mentored by Drs. Stuart in West Point, encouraging her to attend Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, OR.  She graduated with her D.C. (doctor of chiropractic degree) in December 1996, joining Dr. Sienes at Amador Chiropractic in September of 1997.

Dr. Mathre knows that she'll never be done learning and actively engages in advanced leadership training and continuing education courses throughout the year.  She has a hunger for information and is constantly reading and searching out the most current health and wellness information available.

She loves working with people of every generation, but especially pregnant moms and families; helping the next generation get a great start to life.  She's certified in Webster's In-Utero Constraint Technique and has helped many mom's acheive a natural birth where they were headed for intervention with a breech baby presentation.

In her time out of the center you can find her caring for her home, garden and many rescued critters including goats, sheep, ducks, cats, dogs and her potbelly pig.  She enjoys most outdoor activities and riding her motorcycle on our quiet country roads.  She's also an avid scrapbooker and card maker whenever she gets the time.

Dr. Daniel Cockrell

Daniel_1.JPGDr. Cockrell was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he spent his high school days riding along with the San Mateo Fire Department, assisting on medical and fire scenes and studying for his EMT certificate.  He graduated from Hillsdale High School and moved to northern California to study biology at California State University Chico.  While in college, he spent some of his weekends working on a Paradise Ambulance unit, helping the sick and injured.

In his early twenties, Dr Cockrell's job required him to visit medical and chiropractic offices all over Northern California as a records copier.  In medical offices he found himself surrounded by people looking to manage their illnesses and afflictions.  While in chiropractic offices he found people excitedly living toward health and wellness. One day, while waiting to copy records, he was sitting in a chair in a chiropractor’s office- dealing with his own lower back injury.  Seeing the condition he was in, the doctor approached him and offered something nobody else had, he offered hope.  Dr. Corley began adjusting his spine and within two weeks, his life was turned back on, and he noticed he was functioning better than ever before.  With great clarity after that short amount of time, he now knew what his lifes' purpose was.

After graduating from CSU Chico, Dr. Cockrell moved back to the Bay Area to attend Life Chiropractic College West, where he studied under some of the fields best instructors.  He completed his internship at the Life West Health Center, graduating in September 2009 with his Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree.

As a new resident of Sutter Creek, Dr. Cockrell is the most recent addition to the Amador Chiropractic Wellness Center family.  Here he is excitedly providing chiropractic care and coaching people on the benefits of living the wellness lifestyle.  He is a strong supporter of making daily decisions and taking action towards living a healthy lifestyle.  Dr. Cockrell recognizes that health is a result of deliberate actions and a positive mental attitude, it does not happen by accident.

In his time off he enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. You might find him gently strumming his guitar or fishing a hidden stream.  Dr. Cockrell believes it's important to continue learning, to keep the mind sharp and finds joy in reading to further his education and studying scripture to enrich his heart.
